Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani stated that Nigeria has demonstrated that democratic institutions can endure, adapt, and strengthen over time, during the celebration of Democracy Day. In his message, he highlighted the significance of June 12, 1993, a historic election that was annulled but laid the foundation for current democracy. He paid tribute to democracy martyrs such as MKO Abiola, Gani Fawehinmi, and Kudirat Abiola, and noted that the country now enjoys over 27 years of uninterrupted democratic governance under the Fourth Republic, with seven consecutive general elections and peaceful power transfers.
