US signs ‘tremendous’ Arctic security deal with Denmark, Greenland

The United States, Denmark, and Greenland signed an agreement at the UN General Assembly in New York, allowing the US to increase its military presence in Greenland. This agreement resolves tensions between the US and Denmark and includes the modernization of the Pituffik Space Base and the construction of two military bases. It also prohibits any non-NATO country from establishing military installations in Greenland without unanimous approval from Denmark, Greenland, and the US.
