Universal Health Coverage: The State of Senegal Supports Former Political Prisoners

Over 2,000 insurance cards have been distributed to former political prisoners and their families to improve their access to healthcare. This initiative, part of a social justice approach, aims to guarantee the right to health for those affected by political violence between 2021 and 2024. The cabinet director of the Minister of Family emphasized that these cards will cover approximately 80% of medical costs, serving as a form of reparation for the beneficiaries.
