Teachers Threaten to Paralyse Term 2 Transition as Protests Rock Several Counties Over SHA

Teachers across the country are protesting unresolved issues related to health insurance, job security, and working conditions as schools reopen for the second term. The KUPPET union is demanding the confirmation of 44,000 intern teachers, while teachers in Homa Bay and Kajiado are also threatening to strike over dissatisfaction with SHA coverage. Teachers in Vihiga have announced a 14-day strike to demand the removal of the capping model under SHA, which limits medical coverage.
