American cosplayer Meagan Starke, known as Mystic Being, received thousands of hateful comments after portraying Emma Frost from Marvel Rivals, with critics saying her body size made her unsuitable for the character. She began cosplaying in 2021 and has since portrayed more than 100 characters from games, comics and films. Rather than dwell on body-shaming, she focuses on people who appreciate her creations.
