Troops arrest suspected kidnapper, recover AK-47

Troops of the 4 Brigade of the Nigerian Army arrested a suspected kidnapper, Olamide Oyeniyi, on September 12, 2026, in Obaretin, Edo State. During the operation, an AK-47 rifle, one magazine, and eight rounds of 7.62mm ammunition were recovered, along with other personal items. The Army stated that investigations are ongoing to establish the suspect's links with other criminal elements and his possible involvement in kidnapping activities.
