From Wildfire to Forest Regeneration in Rhodes

Three years after devastating wildfires struck Rhodes in 2023, the TUI Care Foundation is launching TUI Forest Rhodes with Greek environmental organization Gia Ti Fisi as part of the Rhodes Co-Lab initiative. The project will plant more than 3,000 trees and restore 80,000 square meters in southern Rhodes, including land around an olive grove near a protected wildlife refuge. Plans include soil management, irrigation and fire-prevention infrastructure, as well as converting an existing stone building into an Education and Information Centre. Nature trails, seminars and tree-planting activities will invite residents, visitors and students to take part in the restoration.
