Morocco climbed two spots in the FIFA rankings to 6th place, the highest ever for an African nation, after Portugal drew 1-1 with DR Congo in the 2026 World Cup. The Atlas Lions now target 5th-placed Brazil, whom they held to a 1-1 draw on June 13. They face Scotland on June 19 in their second Group C match.
