Hydrocarbons: Aliko Dangote's Pressure on the Senegalese African Refining Company

The African Refining Company (SAR) in Senegal is under pressure to modernize its facilities and boost production due to competition from the Dangote group, which plans to invest $2 billion in Gambia and build storage facilities in Guinea. Abib Diop, the CEO of SAR, stated that Dangote aims to flood the regional market, targeting the same countries and customers. SAR now needs to expand its mission to valorize its oil and gas resources and supply compliant refined products to the region.
