FCT schools to resume as NUT suspends teachers’ strike after Wike's intervention

The State Wing Executive Council of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) in the FCT has suspended the ongoing strike by primary and secondary school teachers effective immediately. This decision was announced by SWEC Chairman Mr. Abdullahi Shafa during a press conference in Gwagwalada, following the intervention of FCT Minister Mr. Nyesom Wike, who approved a monthly commitment of 5 billion Naira to address teachers' needs. All FCT teachers are directed to resume duties on April 27, 2026.
