How to develop problem solving skills under CBE

The 8-4-4 education system in Kenya has failed to nurture problem-solving skills due to its focus on examinations. Competency-Based Education (CBE), set to replace 8-4-4 by 2027, aims to anchor education on creativity. In this context, learners from Nakuru and Kisumu counties are participating in the 'Survive the Storm' tech challenge, where they design innovative solutions to climate shocks, using local materials to create devices that protect against strong winds.
