“Coffee can bring a lot to Côte d'Ivoire in terms of foreign currency,” says Dr. Denis O. Seudieu

Dr. Denis O. Seudieu, an Ivorian risk management expert, stated that coffee can bring significant foreign currency to Côte d'Ivoire. Invited on Life TV's Grand Talk on June 3, 2026, he recalled coffee's historical role in the country's agricultural and economic diversification. Despite a decline due to high production costs, competition from cocoa, and liberalization, he sees opportunities in local processing. Currently, Côte d'Ivoire ranks third in Africa and thirteenth globally with about 1% of world production.
