Ebola: FG quarantines high-risk contacts as index patient shows signs of recovery

Nigeria’s federal government has quarantined high-risk contacts following confirmation of an Ebola case and is monitoring other contacts. Health Minister Ali Pate said the patient, who was born in Uganda, is showing significant signs of recovery and that no community transmission has been detected. Colonel Kiwewa Mitela Alain cited community resistance, a lack of logistical and financial resources, and the presence of the former AFC/M23 as obstacles to the response.
