Mali: Fresh battle breaks out between Tuareg rebels, government forces in Kidal

Fresh fighting erupted on Sunday in the key northern city of Kidal between Tuareg rebels and government forces backed by Russian mercenaries. The Azawad Liberation Front (FLA) claimed to have seized control of Kidal with the support of jihadist fighters. The clashes were also reported in the Gao region, leaving 16 civilians and soldiers wounded, according to the Malian government.
