ADC Demands Arrest of Sokoto Marshals Over Alleged Attack on Governorship Candidate

The African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council (ADC-PCC) demanded the arrest of Sokoto Marshals over an alleged attack on its governorship candidate, Alhaji Munir Dan-Iya. The incident reportedly occurred on Thursday on Airport Road in Sokoto as Dan-Iya returned to the city after accompanying former governor Aminu Tambuwal to the airport; the convoy was allegedly attacked and several vehicles vandalised. The party says two DSS personnel attached to the candidate were abducted and gave security agencies 24 hours to find them, protect Dan-Iya and arrest those responsible. It denounced the incident as political intimidation and called for an investigation, while pledging to defend members’ rights through legitimate means.
