Benin: Wadagni delivers on his promise, instant criminal record certificate costs 1,900 CFA francs

Since November 1, 2026, Beninese citizens have been able to obtain their criminal record certificate, bulletin no. 3, online in three clicks, without supporting documents or travel, for 1,900 CFA francs. On service-public.bj, applications are processed automatically using the personal identification number and civil-status data already held by the administration. The Ministry of Justice and Legislation announced the measure in a statement issued in Cotonou on November 2. The reform fulfils an administrative simplification pledge made by Romuald Wadagni in his “Plus loin, ensemble” platform and is also available to Beninese citizens living abroad.
