Chadian airline Royal Airways, which arrived in Cameroon in November 2025, operated its inaugural flight on the Douala-Bangui route on October 7, 2026. This new route expands the airline's network from Cameroon, following three weekly flights between Douala and N'Djamena. The route aims to boost trade between Chad, Cameroon, and the Central African Republic, while increasing flights and passenger numbers at Douala airport. Since its arrival, Royal Airways has transported nearly 4,000 passengers across 212 flights at Douala International Airport.
