How Much Kenyan Businesses Will Pay to Send WhatsApp Messages From October 1

Starting October 1, 2026, Kenyan businesses using the WhatsApp Business Platform will be charged by Meta for certain types of messages, increasing costs for customer service, order updates, and marketing. Businesses will pay about Ksh0.52 per delivered service message after a free monthly allowance of 1,000 messages, with marketing messages costing between Ksh3.20 and Ksh3.30 each. Service replies sent after customer initiation and utility template messages within the 24-hour window will also become chargeable once the free allowance is exhausted.
