Benin: He lured victims by promising new banknotes

A suspect identified by initials Z.D.I. was placed under arrest warrant on July 16, 2026 in Porto-Novo for alleged fraud. According to the Republican Police, he lured victims by promising new banknotes for traditional ceremonies, collecting about ten million CFA francs. He also offered to facilitate travel to Canada by moving their bank accounts, pocketing nearly twelve million CFA francs without delivering the services. Three arrest warrants were issued after his presentation to the prosecutor on July 15.
