China: General Excluded from Army After Nuclear Leak Accusations to the United States

China has expelled General Zhang Youxia from the Communist Party and the army, accused of leaking sensitive information about China's nuclear program to the United States. Zhang, former vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission, and Liu Zhenli, former head of the joint staff department, have also been suspected of corruption and disloyalty. The investigations opened in January did not confirm the nuclear leak accusations, which remain based on anonymous sources.
