Ituri governor concerned about easing of Ebola prevention measures

After returning to Bunia on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, from a mission in Kinshasa, Ituri’s military governor, General Gaby Kasongo, voiced concern about declining compliance with Ebola prevention measures. He urged residents to follow public health precautions, remain vigilant, and promptly report anyone with suspected symptoms to health facilities. Kasongo said the outbreak’s persistence in several localities requires everyone’s involvement and cooperation with response teams.
