Dozens of houses and significant goods destroyed in two fires in Goma

Two fires that occurred on September 3 and 4, 2026, in Goma destroyed dozens of homes and caused significant material losses. The first fire took place at the Mugunga plank market, triggered by an electrical failure, while the second ravaged houses in the Ngangi village. The Goma Carpenters' Association is calling for assistance for the affected traders.
