National Dialogue: At CENCO, Marie-Ange Mushobekwa Advocates for an Inclusive Process, Under Neutral Mediation and Outside the Country

Marie-Ange Mushobekwa, former Minister of Human Rights and member of the FCC, participated in the National Justice and Peace Day in Kinshasa, advocating for an inclusive national dialogue in the DRC. She proposed a neutral mediation involving CENCO and ECC, suggesting that the dialogue take place in a third country to ensure the safety of participants. Mushobekwa also emphasized the importance of releasing unjustly detained opponents to foster a peaceful political climate.

The National Assembly of the DRC officially rejected the participation of the AFC/M23 rebellion in the national dialogue proposed by President Tshisekedi. The Speaker of the Lower House, Aimé Boji Sangara, questioned the legitimacy of including armed groups in the dialogue, emphasizing that it should not reward violence. The Congolese government views the crisis as primarily security-related, involving Rwanda, and is relying on international agreements to resolve the situation. However, part of the opposition is calling for a more inclusive dialogue process.
