Algeria: Petkovic’s dismissal may have cost the FAF a fortune!
Vladimir Petkovic reportedly received €3.84 million—the equivalent of 24 months’ salary at €160,000 per month—after leaving Algeria’s national team in early August. The figures, relayed by journalist Mohammed Nedjari, contradict the initially reported €480,000 and remain disputed, with no official confirmation. An account attributed to FAF president Walid Sadi said Petkovic had agreed to waive much of what he was owed to avoid a costly unilateral termination. The federation may also have owed bonuses, including €150,000 for reaching the 2026 World Cup group stage, as well as separate severance payments to members of the coaching staff.
