Mali: Russia deems security situation 'relatively stable' after attacks

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Borisenko stated on July 17 that the security situation in Mali is 'relatively stable' despite coordinated attacks on July 4 against military positions in Aguelhok, Anéfis, Gao, and other locations. Malian forces, backed by the Russian African Corps, repelled most assaults. The town of Kidal remains under the control of JNIM and FLA groups, and General Elisée Dao vowed to continue operations until they surrender or leave.
