Ebola trend spreading to other provinces: Félix Tshisekedi appoints a field manager for the response

President Félix Tshisekedi chaired the 4th meeting of the National Ebola Task Force on July 13, 2026 in Kinshasa, due to the persistence of the epidemic in Ituri and its potential spread. He appointed Dr. Steve Ahuka as field manager for the response. Health Minister Roger Kamba reported over 300 recoveries and commended awareness efforts. U.S. Chargé d'affaires Lan J. McCary reaffirmed support of over $600 million.
