A new class action lawsuit has been filed in a California federal court, alleging that private messages on WhatsApp may have been accessed by Meta employees and outside contractors, despite promises of end-to-end encryption. The lawsuit, filed by Brian Y. Shirazi and Nida Samson, targets Meta Platforms, WhatsApp LLC, Accenture PLC, and Accenture LLP, covering WhatsApp users who exchanged messages since April 2016. The plaintiffs claim that the company intercepted and accessed private communications without users' knowledge or consent.
