Ex-Agitator Questions Coastal Highway Re-Routing

Chief Kingsley Muturu, a Niger Delta ex-agitator and former Delta State House of Assembly candidate, has asked the federal government to explain plans to reroute the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway to connect with the East-West Road. Muturu argued that the region’s difficult terrain should not rule out infrastructure projects and called for transparent decisions, thorough technical assessments and community engagement. He acknowledged that road construction and oil operations involve different engineering requirements and environmental considerations.
