On October 14, 2026, in Godomey, in the commune of Abomey-Calavi, Secondary Education Minister Adéyèmi Clément Kouchadé launched two projects in the Atlantique department. A call platform led by departmental director Mathias Ahomadegbe will alert parents to frequent absences and emergencies, helping to prevent students from dropping out. The second initiative, “The Cleanest School in Atlantique,” will reward the most deserving schools and encourage better hygiene. In June 2026, the government had also announced free schooling for girls from sixth grade through the final year at public schools.
