2026 Supplementary Finance Bill: National Assembly corrects vote result, raising opposition votes to 126

Senegal’s National Assembly corrected the result of a preliminary motion vote during consideration of bill No. 40/2026, the 2026 supplementary finance bill. After adopting the motion, the House urged the authorities to verify and pay all legally owed arrears within a clearly defined period.

They say the new list conflicts with an earlier presidential directive naming Governor Ademola Adeleke to lead the state campaign, after which he inaugurated a broad-based team. The dissenting members urge the APC’s national leadership, especially its National Secretary, to intervene, prevent division and clarify the committees’ responsibilities.
