The Executive Chairmen of Oju and Obi Local Government Areas, Hon. Ominyi Jackson Adah and Hon. Silas Odeh, visited the Ukpute community following a communal clash triggered by the attack on a woman working on her farm. In response to the violence, 19 individuals were abducted but were all safely released due to the intervention of authorities. The Omi Ny’Igede Youth Wing Development Association (ONYWDA) has called for urgent humanitarian assistance for victims, highlighting the need for food, shelter, and medical care.
