Four dead, 14 critically ill after suspected herbal poisoning in Benue

At least four people have died and 14 others are receiving hospital treatment, several in critical condition, after consuming a herbal mixture suspected of being poisonous and bought in Oju, Benue State. Three suspected sellers—Alhaji Mai Magamani, Mohamed and Musa Kolo—were apprehended by community leaders and handed over to police. Igede Youth Council President John-Frank Ozzidi called for a thorough investigation and urged residents to let the authorities handle the case. Local council chairman Jackson Ominyi confirmed the incident and said those affected were being treated at Oju General Hospital.
