Budget Transparency: Benin Ranked 2nd in Africa and 5th Globally According to IBP 2025

Benin ranks 5th globally and 2nd in Africa in budget transparency with a score of 77/100, according to the 2025 Open Budget Survey by the International Budget Partnership. It gains 21 points in citizen participation (52/100), placing 2nd worldwide after Brazil and 1st in Africa. On budget oversight, it scores 72/100 (11th globally). These achievements follow a decade of reforms under Patrice Talon, with economic growth rising from 3.3% in 2016 to 8.3% in 2025.
