France funds a 1.3 million euro project to strengthen victims' access to justice in DRC

France has allocated 1.3 million euros to support the project « Support for the rule of law for victims of sexual violence in conflict zones » in the DRC. Jean-Noël Barrot, French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and Congolese Justice Minister Guillaume Ngefa signed the funding agreement in Kinshasa on October 2, 2026. The initiative aims to provide free access to justice for victims and strengthen their right to reparations, especially in eastern DRC where sexual violence continues to affect thousands.
