School year starts in Bunia despite Ebola, schools strengthen prevention measures against the epidemic

The 2026-2027 school year began on September 1 in the Democratic Republic of Congo, despite the Ebola epidemic in Ituri. Schools, such as the Pierre Jacques Dufort School Complex, are implementing enhanced hygiene measures, including handwashing and temperature checks. The Union of Cultural Associations for the Development of Ituri has called on the government to postpone the school year to better manage the health situation.
