The drug Tavneos causes several deaths, Japan issues alert

The drug Tavneos, prescribed for rare autoimmune diseases, is at the center of controversy in Japan following the deaths of 20 patients since its launch in June 2022. Kissei Pharmaceutical warned doctors to stop prescribing this treatment to new patients due to the risks of severe liver dysfunction. Approximately 8,500 patients have received the drug in Japan, while no deaths related to this treatment have been reported in the United States.
