About a hundred migrants rescued off the coast of Mauritania

One hundred and ten migrants, including twelve women and three minors, were rescued Tuesday off the coast of Nouakchott after their boat suffered an engine failure. The canoe came from Banjul, Gambia. Among those rescued were 80 Malians, 12 Senegalese, 10 Gambians, 3 Ivorians, 4 Mauritanians, and one Nigerian. The rescue operation took place in difficult weather conditions about 8 nautical miles from the coast.
