In eastern DRC, ADF rebels attacked at dawn on July 14 in the Sayo and Matembo neighborhoods, killing seven people including four civilians. This attack is part of a wave of violence that has left more than twenty dead in recent days in the Beni territory. According to a report by the NGO Badilika, over 200 civilians were killed between April and June 2026 in the territories of Beni, Rutshuru, Masisi, and Walikale, with the ADF responsible for nearly 90% of the massacres. The UN imposed a package of sanctions on rebel leaders, including Corneille Nangaa of AFC-M23 and Muhammed Lumisa of the ADF.
