“Tinubu’s economic record justifies his removal in 2027,” Atiku says

Former Nigerian vice president and African Democratic Congress presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar said Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic record justifies removing him from office in 2027. In a statement issued Saturday by spokesperson Phrank Shaibu, Atiku said the naira had fallen from about 471 to 1,329 per US dollar under Tinubu’s administration. He was responding to Tinubu’s remarks at the launch of his re-election campaign in Kaduna, where the president blamed his opponents for poverty and hunger. Atiku said Nigerians’ economic hardship was real and could not be denied by blaming the opposition.
