Illegal Gold Panning: Gendarmerie Dismantles Several Sites in Indénié-Djuablin

The national Gendarmerie intensified its operations against illegal gold panning in Indénié-Djuablin from August 16 to 27, 2026. Several clandestine sites were dismantled, resulting in the destruction of 109 dredges, 134 pumps, and other equipment. Three individuals were arrested during these interventions, which took place in localities such as Aniassué and Ebilassokro. The fight against illegal gold mining continues in the region.
