2027 Polls: Why INEC should deregister ADC, APP, 3 other parties, AGF tells court

The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, supports a lawsuit seeking to compel the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deregister the ADC and four other political parties. He argues that the continued existence of these parties violates provisions of the 1999 Constitution and undermines the country's electoral integrity. The AGF filed an affidavit in the Federal High Court in Abuja, stating that INEC cannot retain the registration of parties that have failed to meet the minimum legal requirements.
