On Thursday, October 29, 2026, Emmanuel Macron condemned a Russian jet-powered drone strike on Dnipro railway station that hit two stationary trains and killed at least 13 people and injured 10, according to Ukrainian authorities. He offered condolences to Volodymyr Zelensky and the Ukrainian people, calling for a just and lasting peace and urging Russia to negotiate. The strike came despite a local ceasefire that took effect on October 27 in Olechky, in the Kherson region. On the day the truce began, Zelensky said Russia had launched 16 ballistic missiles and 280 drones overnight.
