Out of school: Concerns as millions of children face bleak future in Northern Nigeria

In northern Nigeria, insecurity has led to the closure of many schools, leaving thousands of children without education. Since 2014, attacks and abductions, including the kidnapping of 276 girls from Chibok, have created a climate of fear. According to Save the Children, 1,683 learners were abducted between 2014 and 2022, and over 11,500 schools temporarily closed. Parents, fearing for their children's safety, often choose to keep them at home.
