Call for a ghost town: Assessment of the June 3 day

On June 3, 2026, the Congolese opposition called for a ghost town to protest any constitutional change. In Kinshasa, the atmosphere was mixed: some streets were deserted, others busy. Authorities and the presidential majority urged the population to continue normal activities. Reinforced police presence was visible in several sensitive areas of the capital.
