Cape Town’s 2026/27 adjustment budget adds R6 million from the Municipal Disaster Response Grant to repair community facilities damaged by April and May floods. The city is also shifting R146 million within its Water and Sanitation Directorate to address a backlog in replacing ageing municipal vehicles. Finance mayoral committee member Siseko Mbandezi said the overall capital budget remains unchanged and the adjustments will not affect basic service delivery. The revised budget also reprioritises R4.8 million originally allocated to the Spencer Road Clinic upgrade.
