Venice Film Festival: 'The House of the Wind' Brings Cameroonian Cinema to Competition

The film 'The House of the Wind', directed by Auguste Bernard Kouemo Yanghu, is selected among 19 feature films for the Orizzonti competition at the Venice Film Festival. It tells the story of Josette, an 80-year-old woman living alone in Yaoundé, who hopes for the return of her emigrated children. Inspired by the director's mother's life, the film addresses the loneliness of parents left behind and the impacts of emigration on families. With a runtime of 102 minutes, it features performances by Josette Kwanya and Moudjeu Pouadeu, and includes music contributions from Blick Bassy.
