“He could no longer deliver” – Ten Hag explains why Ronaldo struggled at Man United

Erik ten Hag said Cristiano Ronaldo could no longer perform at the highest level after leaving Juventus in 2021 and was no longer pushing himself to the limit in training. The former Manchester United manager said Ronaldo’s reluctance to put the team first created problems, although teammates admired the Portuguese forward. Ronaldo scored 27 goals in 54 appearances after returning to United, before the club terminated his contract in November 2022 following his explosive interview with Piers Morgan.
