Burkina Faso allocated 18.8 billion FCFA in 2025 for the maintenance of public buildings, representing a 114% increase from 2023. The Council of Ministers, led by Ibrahim Traoré, established Faso Sanya, a public agency responsible for infrastructure upkeep, to ensure more timely and effective maintenance. The agency will handle cleaning, water systems, electrical installations, air conditioning, and repairs, aiming to prevent equipment deterioration. Maintenance expenses have risen by over 10 billion FCFA in two years, indicating efforts to improve the management of state property.
