Serena Hotels driving economy in East Africa

According to a recent financial report, Serena Hotels contributes US$310 million to East African GDP and supports over 11,000 jobs in the region. The group operates 22 properties across six African countries and is investing in renewable energy, with solar installations generating 14.2 million kWh since 2017. The company aims for net-zero emissions and has reduced CO2 emissions by 9,539 tons. Seven hotels in Kenya are already solar-equipped, with Tanzanian properties to follow in 2026-2027.
