Kerosene: How Dangote is Taking Africa Beyond Crude Oil Exports

Nigeria delivered 466,000 tonnes of kerosene to Europe in June 2026, surpassing US volumes for the first time, thanks to the Dangote refinery in Lekki. This export of refined product marks a reversal of Africa's extractive model. European kerosene prices fell from $1,694 to $982 per tonne. Dangote plans to invest $10 billion to raise capacity to 1.4 million barrels per day.
